Bayern Munich vs Arsenal: Lea Schuller's Header Gives German Giants First-Leg Advantage

Schuller Heads Opener for Bayern in UEFA Women's Champions League Quarter-final First Leg

Arsenal Face Uphill Battle in Second Leg After 1-0 Home Loss

Munich, Germany - Lea Schuller's header in the first half gave Bayern Munich a narrow 1-0 victory over Arsenal in the first leg of their UEFA Women's Champions League quarter-final tie at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.

The German forward rose highest to meet a cross from Linda Dallmann in the 21st minute, powering the ball past Manuela Zinsberger and giving Bayern the advantage heading into the second leg.

Arsenal, who have won the Champions League four times, struggled to create clear-cut chances throughout the match and were unable to break down Bayern's solid defense.

The Gunners' best opportunity came in the second half when Stina Blackstenius fired wide from close range, but it proved to be a rare moment of genuine danger for the German hosts.

Bayern, on the other hand, had several chances to extend their lead, but Zinsberger made a string of fine saves to keep the score at 1-0.

The second leg will be played at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday, March 23, with Arsenal needing to overcome a one-goal deficit to reach the semi-finals.
