How to Set a GIF as Your iPhone or iPad Wallpaper

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Find a GIF

Before you can set a GIF as your wallpaper, you need to find one that you like. There are many websites and apps where you can find GIFs, such as GIPHY, Tenor, and Reddit.

Once you have found a GIF that you like, save it to your camera roll.

2. Convert the GIF to a Live Photo

In order to set a GIF as your wallpaper, you need to convert it to a Live Photo. This can be done using the Shortcuts app.

To convert a GIF to a Live Photo using the Shortcuts app, follow these steps:

1. Open the Shortcuts app.
2. Tap the "+" button in the top-right corner.
3. Tap the "Add Action" button.
4. Search for the "Convert Image to Live Photo" action.
5. Tap the "Convert Image to Live Photo" action.
6. Tap the "Choose Photo" button.
7. Select the GIF that you want to convert.
8. Tap the "Done" button.
9. Tap the "Run Shortcut" button.

Once the shortcut has finished running, the GIF will be converted to a Live Photo and saved to your camera roll.

3. Set the Live Photo as Your Wallpaper

Now that the GIF has been converted to a Live Photo, you can set it as your wallpaper.

To set a Live Photo as your wallpaper, follow these steps:

1. Open the Settings app.
2. Tap "Wallpaper."
3. Tap "Choose a New Wallpaper."
4. Tap the "Live Photos" tab.
5. Select the Live Photo that you want to set as your wallpaper.
6. Tap the "Set" button.

Your new GIF wallpaper will now be set!
