Disable Connection Test from the Registry
Regaining Network Connectivity
Resolve network issues by disabling the connection test feature. This error often occurs when a computer is configured to perform a connection test each time an application attempts to establish a connection.
Simple Registry Solution
Easily disable the repeated connection test attempts by modifying a registry key. This method involves accessing the registry editor and changing a specific value. The expected response for HTTP should be 200.
Bypass Msftconnecttest
For a more advanced solution, use Group Policy to bypass Msftconnecttest. Navigate to Computer Configuration - Administrative Templates - Network - Network Connectivity Status Indicator (NCSI) and configure the following GPO:
- Turn off active probes
- Configure active probes with custom list instead of default list
- Disable NCSI
