Boston Celtics Defeat Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the 2024 NBA Finals

The Boston Celtics took a commanding 1-0 lead in the 2024 NBA Finals, defeating the Dallas Mavericks 107-89 in Game 1 on Thursday night.

Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 22 points, while Jaylen Brown added 21 points and 10 rebounds. The Celtics led by as many as 29 points in the second half and were never seriously threatened by the Mavericks.

Luka Dončić led the Mavericks with 19 points, but he was not efficient from the field, shooting just 6-of-17. Spencer Dinwiddie added 17 points for the Mavericks, and Christian Wood contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Celtics will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series when Game 2 is played on Sunday night in Boston.
