Leagues Cup 2023: Everything You Need to Know
Introduction
The Leagues Cup is an annual international club football competition contested between Major League Soccer (MLS) and Liga MX clubs from Mexico. Inaugurated in 2019, the tournament brings together the top teams from both leagues to compete for a prestigious trophy.
Format
Group Stage
The Leagues Cup features a group stage comprising 15 matches played between August 3-6, 2023. The teams are divided into four groups of four, with each group containing two MLS teams and two Liga MX teams. The top two teams from each group advance to the knockout stage.
Knockout Stage
The eight teams that qualify from the group stage progress to the knockout stage, which begins with the quarterfinals on August 9-10, 2023. The semifinals are scheduled for September 13-14, followed by the final on September 19, 2023.
