NEWS FLASH: Road partially closed after serious assault

Emergency services at the scene of assault in Fulford

Fulford Road in York has been partially closed after a serious assault this morning. Police were called to the scene at around 10am following reports of an assault involving two men. One man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the other man has been arrested. The road is currently closed between the junctions of Bishopthorpe Road and Fishergate. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.

Diversions are in place via Fishergate, Clarence Street, and Bishopthorpe Road. First York buses are diverting services via Fishergate, Clarence Street, and Bishopthorpe Road.
